Camp Superkids Lets Kids with Asthma be Happy Campers

School’s out, summer’s here and kids everywhere are packing for summer camp.For kids with asthma, though, there are special concerns with going to camp.What if he has an asthma attack?What if she forgets to take her medicine?The “what if’s” may keep these children away from the summer camp experience.Camp Superkids helps change the “what if” to “When do I get to go?” for asthmatic kids.
It’s no big secret human beings can be fickle creatures. We often proclaim certain things—like our health and quality of life—are incredibly important. Yet we’re just as often unwilling to take the steps needed to safeguard or enjoy the very things we say mean so much.
Earth Day has recently become somewhat of a shopping holiday—a day to buy more reusable shopping bags and water bottles.And though changing from the disposable to more sustainable is a small step in the right direction, I’d like to propose a back-to-basics way of celebrating Earth Day:Take some time to remember how you first connected with Mother Earth.
