School’s out, summer’s here and kids everywhere are packing for summer camp.  For kids with asthma, though, there are special concerns with going to camp.  What if he has an asthma attack?  What if she forgets to take her medicine?   The “what if’s” may keep these children away from the summer camp experience.  Camp Superkids helps change the “what if” to “When do I get to go?” for asthmatic kids.

With on-site medical staff, as well as activities that promote asthma education, young asthmatics have the opportunity to experience summer camp at Camp Superkids while they learn how to correctly manage their asthma.  Last year the American Lung Association of Kentucky had the opportunity to partner with a new camp facility that was just built with special needs groups in mind.  Not only does the facility have a state of the art medical building with all new equipment, but the activities and cabins are all fresh and new as well.  For the second year in a row campers will truly be able to have a wonderfully unique camp experience.  Camp dates are July 17-22 at the Center for Courageous Kids in Scottsville, KY.  KAIRE is happy to be a sponsor to help kids with asthma enjoy a safe, fun summer camp experience.
