Spring Brings Ozone Season Along with Allergies

Spring in Kentuckiana brings so much fun: busy ball diamonds, outdoor festivals, bike rides and graduation ceremonies. Unfortunately, the season can also bring stuffy noses, itchy eyes and misery if you have allergies.

Cold Cash for Cool Roofs

A cool roof can mean cold cash, thanks to a cool roof rebate program.

The Louisville Metro Office of Sustainability announced a rebate program designed to combat urban warming as identified in the Urban Heat Management Study released last year. The Office of Sustainability is offering a rebate at a rate of $1 per square foot of cool roof, in an effort to incentivize at least 100,000 square feet of new cool roof installations.

Tax returns sometimes go towards a splurge, such as a spring break or a new couch. It may not have the rush of instant gratification, but consider investing your return, or part of it, in purchases which impact your energy use and save money in the long run.

Make Fall a Clean Air Season

As leaves and temperatures fall, the pressure in your vehicle’s tires may be falling, too. Check your tires at least once a month and whenever tire indicator lights on your dashboard flash a warning.
